a is for autism

hey everyone,

today i met etsy seller designzbylizzie in the forums, and she's doing something really great that i'd like to share with you.

here's lizzie's son julian:

such a cutie, isn't he? unfortunately, he has autism.

here's the pendant he designed:

pretty incredible, huh? with the help of his mom, lizzie, julian was able to bring his idea to fruition with this 'a is for autism' pendant. the text on the pendant says it all: abilities, not disabilities.

julian will be presenting this piece at the COSAC convention, which brings autistic people and their families together, in atlantic city in may. there are clinics, speeches, and new treatments available to the people who attend.

julian will be taking a big role in this year's convention. "he will be talking to other autistic children and their families about [the pendant] and promoting it himself," says his lizzie. what a brave, creative, and intelligent boy!

you can support little julian through your purchase of his pendant on etsy! the pendant is $25, and all proceeds go to 'new horizons in autism', based in new jersey, where julian is from. you can find designzbylizzie's description of the pendant and purchase it here.

i bought one already, but this great cause needs all the funding it can get! please consider helping julian and all of the other children like him who have autism by purchasing this 'a is for autism' pendant.

thanks for taking the time to read this :).

<3,
melissa
